St. John Neumann Catholic Church
Liturgical Design, Furnishings, Sacred Art, Flooring & Church Dome Design
Austin, TX

Rohn Design developed and executed the complete Catholic church design, custom sacred art, and custom liturgical furnishings for the new St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Austin, TX.

The project features a custom marble altar, ambo, and tabernacle; church mosaics; a hand-carved Catholic crucifix; sanctuary flooring; and monumental church dome artwork—including one of the largest mosaic domes in the United States.

The 72-foot mosaic dome, made of over 10 million hand-chiseled tiles, crowns this modern Roman Catholic church with biblical imagery that unites the Eucharist, the Trinity, and the heavenly kingdom in a breathtaking visual theology.

The church flooring extends from the nave into the sanctuary, with intricate Italian stone patterns depicting the Christian virtues. The design gives parishioners a constant reminder, even underfoot, of their call to live out their faith.
