Good Shepherd Nursing Home Chapel
Renovation & Restoration, including Liturgical Design, Furnishings & Stations of the Cross

Wheeling, WV

Rohn Design completed a Gothic-inspired liturgical redesign for the Chapel at the Good Shepherd Home of the Aged, updating the Catholic chapel to meet the spiritual and accessibility needs of elderly residents. The chapel renovation incorporated Gothic architectural style while providing a functional setting for Catholic worship.

The team designed custom liturgical furniture—including the altar, ambo, and tabernacle throne—using White Carrara and Rosso Impero marble, selected for their durability and beauty. Furniture was thoughtfully adapted for elderly users to provide ADA accessibility. Special devotional areas included the Oil of the Sick, Book of Memory, and Book of Intentions. The project also featured the restoration of a priceless set of Stations of the Cross to preserve their historic significance.

This carefully executed renovation honors both Catholic church and diocesan guidelines while meeting the spiritual and practical needs of the community it serves.
