Saint John Vianney Catholic Church
Renovation, including Liturgical Design, Furnishings, Statues, Flooring, Lighting & Dome
Houston, TX

Rohn Design developed a liturgical master plan for the church renovation of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston, Texas—encompassing the main sanctuary, chapel, and adoration chapel. The plan brought together the church’s liturgical, devotional, and functional needs to support Catholic worship and prayer.

The project included sanctuary renovation and space formation, including narthex design; new flooring; custom liturgical furnishings; devotional spaces; custom Catholic statues of saints; sacred art restoration; and a new dome mural installation. A state-of-the-art church lighting system was designed to highlight the altar, Stations of the Cross, sacred art, and interior finishes while active participation in the liturgy.

A hand-carved Italian crucifix, marble altar of sacrifice, and a flowing mosaic floor symbolizing the Christian journey from Baptism to the Eucharist reflect the parish’s spiritual journey. Reimagined Stations of the Cross—cast from original molds and illuminated with precision—anchor the Passion narrative in a contemporary sacred art tradition.
