Rohn & Associates Design developed and executed a complete liturgical restoration for St. Joseph Catholic Church in Macon, Georgia—one of the most extensive Catholic church renovations in the South. This five-year effort included liturgical design, space formation, custom liturgical furnishings, church murals, advanced church lighting design, and sound system upgrades to support worship and enhance the sacred space.

Highlights of the project include custom Sacred Heart of Jesus and Marian side shrine murals, vaulted ceiling artwork depicting the Four Evangelists, and the restoration of 64 large German Meyer stained glass windows. Hand-carved white Carrara marble Stations of the Cross, restored gold-leaf architectural detailing, and decorative plaster painting enriched the church’s Catholic decorative program.

The sanctuary transformation included a new altar modeled after St. Joseph’s original high altar, crafted with white Carrara and rich purple Rosso Levanto marble, along with a matching ambo featuring the symbols of the Four Evangelists, a new baptismal font, and complementary liturgical furnishings. The completed restoration brought renewed harmony to the sanctuary, creating a radiant, prayerful environment for the celebration of the Mass.
