Chapel of the Incarnate Word
San Antonio, TX
Rohn Design led the complete interior and exterior renovation and restoration of the historic Chapel of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. This Catholic sacred space was revitalized through a comprehensive building program that balanced architectural preservation with liturgical functionality.

The scope included liturgical updates, restoration of original surfaces and sacred artwork, and the design of new vesting, sacristy, and storage areas. Rolf designed meaningful details, such as the Amor Meus—"My Love"— marble flooring, to reflect the Sisters’ mission to make tangible the healing love of Jesus, the Incarnate Word, by promoting human dignity. A new Reserved Eucharist Chapel was introduced to enhance Eucharistic devotion. Custom lighting and control systems were developed to support the prayerful atmosphere and highlight key liturgical elements.
