Rohn Design developed and executed the liturgical design, sacred art, and custom liturgical furnishings for the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Houston.

 

This contemporary Romanesque Catholic cathedral spans 37,000 square feet and seats more than 1,800 worshippers. It features custom-designed crucifixes, carved Stations of the Cross, a custom altar and baptismal font, stained glass, monumental Carrara marble statuary, and marble flooring—uniting modern architecture with timeless Catholic tradition. 

 

The interior is crowned by a 100-foot stained glass dome depicting the Twelve Apostles and the Holy Spirit, adding a powerful visual focal point above the worship space. At the entrance, a stained glass Resurrection window depicting Christ welcomes visitors to the Co-Cathedral in downtown Houston.

The completed Co-Cathedral provides a dignified sacred environment for Catholic worship, serving as the setting for major liturgical celebrations led by the Cardinal and as a spiritual home for the faithful of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
