St. John Vianney Chapel & Pope Saint John Paul II Chapel
Pontifical North American College
Liturgical Design, Furnishings, Liturgical Art, Art Glass & Lighting

Rome, Italy

Rohn & Associates designed the renovated St. John Vianney Chapel at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy, creating a sacred environment that supports priestly formation during sabbaticals.

The liturgical design included space formation, altar, appointments, tabernacle and throne, Presider’s and Deacon’s chairs, credence table, liturgical art, interior decoration, statuary, Stations of the Cross, art glass, and a comprehensive lighting program. Highlights feature a hand-carved oak statue of Mary, Mother of Priests, a Cosmatesque-style tabernacle inspired by the Church of Santa Sabina, and a gold-leafed mural reproduction of the ancient Mosaic of the Cross, Vine, and Branches. The team also provided fundraising support that was instrumental in completing this important renovation.

The Rohn team also designed stained glass windows for the new Pope Saint John Paul II Chapel at the NAC. Read about the chapel’s stained glass in Inside the Vatican and on our blog.

The Blessed Junípero Serra stained glass window was unveiled during Pope Francis’s visit to the College in Rome.
