St. Paul's Newman Center Chapel
North Dakota State University
Liturgical Design, Furnishings, Sacred Art, & Mosaics
Fargo, ND

Rohn & Associates Design developed and executed a comprehensive Catholic liturgical design and sacred art program for the newly constructed St. Paul’s Newman Center chapel, serving the Catholic campus ministry at North Dakota State University. The project includes custom liturgical furnishings, vibrant church murals, intricate mosaics, and restored sacred art, all developed specifically for a Catholic chapel for university students.

The centerpiece is a radiant apse mural featuring the Holy Trinity surrounded by angels. Below it, a stunning smalti mosaic depicts the Twelve Apostles around a glowing Eucharistic chalice beneath Gothic arches. Crafted by master Italian artisans, the custom mosaic integrates with the Catholic chapel interior.

Liturgical furnishings such as the custom altar, ambo, and tabernacle stand were created to complement the liturgical art. The chapel also incorporates a Byzantine-style Pantocrator painting, inlaid mosaic church flooring symbolizing Christian virtues, scriptural stenciling at the baptismal font, and restored Stations of the Cross.
